concepting for the 2023 nobull swirl collection campaign

NOBULL’s most loyal consumers fell in love with the brand’s bold, colorful, and fun prints that launched each year, and the SWIRL Collection had become one of the most popular and sought after. For the 2023 drop, the print had taken on a new look, with the effect being developed in the outsole by swirling two colors together, making each shoe a unique design. To celebrate the bright, energetic colors and styles in this collection, I explored a concept centered around heroing the colorways on a simple black background, while creating a spinning effect drawing inspiration from those old school spin art paint machines. My goal was to create an eye-catching visual that highlighted these special designs, while communicating the bold and dynamic energy associated with training. This concept wasn’t used, but I had a blast exploring the idea. Shown directly below are the key visuals developed, and towards the bottom some earlier concepts are also included that were tested before landing on this design.
